Alice 2009

Three photos 200 X 150cm
Cyanotype over canvas

The cyanotype is a noble technique well known since 1840, its main characteristic is the conformation of blue images created by the main reactive agent (Iron ammonium citrate). It has to be exposed for a long time to sunlight because it only generates a reaction with ultra violet rays.

This series makes a reference to the main character of the book “ Alice in wonderland” by Lewis Carroll. However, the journal of this character is the city of Bogotá, in this hypothetical journey the images show some of the odd experience that Alice might face in this capital city, where chaos and the unrest that cant´ be experimented prevail, in much of the same way as in any other cosmopolitan city.
